⭐ “It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live.” – Marcus Aurelius
Memento Mori is not your average motivation or well-being app. It is a “Swiss knife" bringing together all aspects of a good life as per Stoic philosophy. The tools range from motivational quotes to journals, and task manager to healthy habits.
Today, anxiety, stress, and deteriorating mental health are a global epidemic due to busy lives with no space to connect with self. To make it worse, there are millions of solutions that treat these problems only on the surface with feel good motivation or music, but not improving the root cause. It is like applying bandage when the patient needs an operation! And our goal is to provide this operation, the ancient Stoic wisdom.
▌THE STOIC WAY OF LIFE
“We suffer more in imagination than in reality" - Seneca
Stoicism is the philosophy of leaders, developing:
• Discipline of Desire: Understand and regulate emotions, becoming calm
• Discipline of Assent: Resolve conflicts and less reactive by thinking critically
• Discipline of Action: Be more responsible, fearless, and kinder
Stoicism, that led to modern psychological methods like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), teachers that happiness is an internal job, that comes with developing a balance of desires, thoughts, and actions. A Stoic makes the best out of what is in their control and does not let anything outside control bother them, like opinions of others, weather, etc. In words of Nassim Taleb, “A Stoic is a Buddhist with attitude.”
Above all, our central theme is the greatest motivator, “Memento Mori,” which translates to "Remember that you must die," an idea close to Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, who said, “You could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think.”
Memento Mori uses limited lifespan as a filter to cut all the noise and trivial daily matters from your life, and help you focus all the energy on goals that matter!
